And now you know why I’m calling this the mullet miata.
Biz in the front party in the back.
After purchasing this poor poor miata for only 900 bucks last Sunday I’ve already fixed a handful of things.
The rear driverside caliper bracket was broke. Had to drill it out tap it and put a new bolt in there.
Pads all the way around.
New Air Filter
Oil Change
And then drove it 400 miles to Ennis Texas for the NHRA Fall nationals top fuel drag race which at this point is just as boring as nascar.. 300mph or not they all have the same car with different stickers and that’s no fun.
The woman thought I was a bit crazy at first for buying this thing but has warmed up to it and it was actually her idea to drive it 400 miles to Ennis .. Not mine.
I’ve also ordered KYB full adjustable shocks with Eibach springs and those should arrive by Friday. Along with some new Fat Cat bump stops.
This has to be the best name for any tire or worse name ..
May Run tires... HAHA I still think this is funny. But with a stretch like that they “may run” the “may not”.
Also anytime your check engine light turns itself off is a good time... That’s what I woke up to this morning .. No check engine light mmm mm good.

How easy is it to get one of these sorted and into DD duty? Assuming I have a budget of <$4K for the initial purchase and $1-2K per year to maintain.
Upgraded the garage and feeling guilty putting useless miles on an arguably nicer car.

if you are patient you can get a real nice one with that price. I got my ‘93 LE for 3,400.

You want a 1.8 liter. I like the NB body style myself but if I were you I’d go snag a nice used example that doesn’t need any work at all. Each year you’ll end up putting 1-2k in tires if you decide to daily it and put expensive rubber on there. At the same time you could spend 4k have something that gets 25mpg on a bad day and spend 1k on the suspension a year from now another k on wheels and tires and just keep making it better and better .

You can get a good 1.6 for much less, and if you just want a fun daily.. the smaller engine will take the abuse just fine.
